Turbulence  Sometimes You Need To When life gets to be too much, sometimes it’s wise to just buckle up and wait until things settle down.  Due to unfortunate circumstances AOS has been on an extended hiatus. We’re regrouping with hopes of being more productive in the new year.  See you in 2026.  Cheers.  Nudge

Hagstrom F300 Futura Blue Sparkle  A Single-coil Blue Sparkle Surf Magic Machine! I’ve long heard of musicians walking into pawn shops and finding a guitar that they just had to have. That’s what happened to me with my new acquisition.  The blue sparkle of this Hagstrom Futura immediately caught my eye from across the room. Its sexy curves and the flare of its headstock design were just magical to me. We don’t see a lot of Swedish made guitars around here, in fact I had never played one before. I was drawn to it like a mosquito to a bug zapper. Snap!  My first thought was, this guitar had to be mine. As a reached out to touch it, my soul begged and pleaded, please, please be awesome! Please have no major flaws! Please be in my price range. Thank the Maker, it was everything it needed to be.  I didn’t have the cash, but I did have plastic. I also knew that I had plenty of music gear I could easily part with to pay off the debt quickly. I instantly became super motivat...

Surf Rock Sounds Surf music was a huge part of my childhood, although I didn’t even know it. I remember watching so many beach movies on TV.  Now that I’ve rediscovered surf music, I’m constantly surprised by how many classic surf rock songs I recognize.  I enjoy every sub-genre of surf music, but I’m very excited by the many modern surf-rock bands. As a guitar player, I’m really drawn to the heavier, overdriven guitar tones. Bands like The Coffin Daggers, are a direct influence on my own Agents Of Surf sound.  No matter which style you choose, it’s the melody driven magic that keeps it interesting.  Stay Surfy! AOS

Happy New Year 2025

Our True North Strong and Free. The Agents Of Surf are hard at work on a new surftacular spy-surf rock single. However, with the current arctic blast of -20c temperatures, our fingers and brains move a bit slower, so it’s taking some time. We are still riding high on last years Dodge City Social Club radio show play of Codename Cicero. It’s truly amazing how even the slightest positive reaction can fuel your desire for more. Or maybe we’re just extremely needy.  Stay tuned spy-surf fans and all the best to you and loved ones in 2025. AOS

The other side of the world! In The Land Of Oz, Hell Yeah! I want to give a huge shout out to Jamie Balcombe, host of Australia's #1 surf guitar podcast The Dodge City Social Club. The Agents Of Surf single Codename Cicero appears in position #6 in the playlist of episode 27. I’m so thrilled to be listed along side bands like Coffin Daggers, Riptide Rats and Magnatech.  Surf music fans can listen to this episode and many previous episodes on SoundCloud. It’s the better way to listen to music and podcasts. Again, I’m currently on cloud nine thinking that other people around the world are listening to my song. Well enough dreaming, I must keep this wave moving by writing and recording more tunes.  Humbled and excited,  Nudge

AOS Merch?

Agents Of Surf logo 2024 The AOS Wave Keeps A Swell’n Things are moving slow, but I’m under no grave pressure and that’s a wonderful thing. There are new tunes in the works and without promising much, I’ve been making some connections with a couple of Internet surf radio operators about playing my first song Codename Cicero.  Today I pumped out a logo design that I feel works with the spy-surf theme and in a very usable shape lending it to be applied to a multitude of common merch items, i.e; stickers, t-shirts, mugs, etc. Since I was 12, and got in shit for doodling KISS and Van Halen logos in my text books, a bands individual style was important. For me art and music are inseparable.  That’s the AOS update for today. Thanks to all you “SAINTS”, (Surf Agents in Training) Kick that reverb-tank! Cheers! Nudge

Codename Cicero Remastered

What’s In A Name? The band name The Gamma Experiment, ran aground in my mind. I originally loved it, but it didn’t take me where I wanted to go musically. I’m really digging the spy-surf combo vibe.  What is spy-surf vibe? To me it includes all the sounds of traditional cool surf music, but it is an opportunity to blow the doors wide open, bend, distort and ultimately expand the idea of surf. So the idea of being an ‘advocate of the surf mentality’ popped into my mind. Then that got tied to thought ‘Agent of…’ Bingo, ‘Agent Of Surf’ that sounded cool to me.  Agents Of Surf feels better aligned, more akin to the core idea of a modern surf band. Hope that makes sense. Anyway, it all comes down to the tunes. I’m working hard to get it right. For now, I’ll just leave it at that. Nudge
